User Interface Designer (f/m) Breakthrough Innovation & Research (9657)
Area
Research is a key building block in each company to facilitate innovation. SAP constantly examines how to further improve the quality of products and efficiency of development processes. In this context SAP's Breakthrough Innovation & Research initiative holistically analyzes SAP business solutions and provides guidance to internal development, ensuring future winning solutions. The department performs in-depth investigations of customer requirements and evaluates market trends. In particular, Breakthrough Innovation & Research focuses on topics such as: – User convenience and performance – Lean end-to-end business scenarios – Low cost of ownership methodologies
Tasks
User Interface Design is central to software development. Today‘s users expect applications which are oriented to their needs and make it easy for them to carry out their tasks. This demanding requirement can only be fulfilled by specialists who understand users, their tasks, and the underlying technology. As an user interface designer you work closely with Solution Management and Development to enable users to do business in the most effective and efficient manner. Your tasks include:
$nbsp$$nbsp$Gathering end-user requirements by organization, execution, moderation of end user site visits and user days, including collection/consolidation of results
$nbsp$$nbsp$Facilitate design sessions with involved teams
$nbsp$$nbsp$Development of user interface designs, using various prototyping techniques
$nbsp$$nbsp$General verification of designs through reviews, validations, and formal usability testing
$nbsp$$nbsp$General design support and consultation for the development teams
Requirements
$nbsp$$nbsp$At least 2 years experience with various usability methods, e.g. contextual inquiry techniques, design prototyping, usability reviews and testing
$nbsp$$nbsp$Educational background in either (Media-)Design, Software Development, Information Architecture, Human Factors (Psychology)
$nbsp$$nbsp$Knowledge of HTML and a graphics package, for example, Paintshop Pro, Photoshop, etc.
$nbsp$$nbsp$Knowledge of at least one programming language would be an advantage
$nbsp$$nbsp$Working independently though a strong team-player
$nbsp$$nbsp$Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
